Chef Lai Saepharn

Lai has been in the food and restaurant industry for over 25 years. He started as a dish washer at the age of 19. He has trained under Master Chefs Charles Kai Staltmeir (European) and David Soo Hoo (Chinese/French). He has worked his way up the kitchen ladder and got his first Executive Chef position at the age of 28.

Lai1He joined the Rio City Café team in late June of 2016; Since then he has brought his international training and experience to the next level. His menu consists of classic French and Asian techniques and cooking methods with contemporary American/Californian cuisine. Lai is happily married and has 2 wonderful children. On his time off he is either with his family or working on his herb and vegetable garden and or testing new recipes.
