Fun Bar and Restaurant for Locals and Tourists I love Old Sacramento - and Rio City Cafe is a splendid restaurant on the river. The bar is cheerful and comfortable for single women as well as people waiting for a dinner table. The drinks are well priced and the bartenders are very nice. The wine pours are generous (I get so tired of bars that measure out a small serving in a huge glass...) The cheese loaf with balsamic oil appetizer makes a great small decadent meal for two! The prime beef tacos are fun and spicy.

Rio City is the best view in Sacramento. They have good happy hour and an unlimited mimosa brunch on weekends. The food is good, must have the garlic loaf, but could've skipped the mahi nachos. The granola yogurt brunch item is yummy and saves room for all the mimosas I want. Good staff, good food, great location, perfect place for locals to feel like a tourist and great place to take out of town friends.

We celebrated a birthday at Rio City this evening and had a very delightful evening with good food and service. Allison was on top of everything. Highly recommend this place on the river.

I love Rio! The ambiance, the food, the river. It's all great. Very good wines. Knowledgeable servers (both food and wine). Attentive management. Can be romantic. Can be celebratory. Nice to sit on the patio and enjoy drinks on a warm summer day (well, hot summer day! Sacramento doesn't have warm summer days).
